Blog 11 - Monday, October 24, 2016

There will only be ONE (1) blog this week - due Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:59pm

Last week was Digital Citizenship Week.

An important part of my English class is to make you aware of what you post on-line and what it means to be a good digital citizen.  Being a good digital citizen includes:
- being aware of your digital footprints;
- demonstrating safe and respectful online etiquette;
- not cyberbullying, sexting, or posting inappropriate photos and/or videos,
- making important decisions about what to post to social media sites; and,
- not downloading or uploading inappropriate content

For this blog, I would like you to CREATE an important Digital Citizenship message using MEMES!

A meme in a generic message about a behaviour that is passed around on-line.

Using makeameme.org, create a MEME about being a GOOD Digital Citizen.  On the blog site, write an explanation about the meme you've created.  Explain why you've chosen that image? Explain the text on your meme!  How is your meme effective?

On classroom, I want you to submit your meme by copying and pasting it to a Google document and then TURNING it in!

  1. The meme I choose, shows how people threw there garbage on the floor since the garbage can was full and they have no where to put there garbage. I wrote ''You know bad citizens are around when you see this...'' because I find that good citizens would rather do there best to help there country and they would go against someone who litters. It's obvious that no good, only bad citizens were here, that's why no one was stopped by making this mess. I feel that my meme is effective in many ways one of the ways is that it may make people feel guilty if they are someone who does such things as littering.

  3. my meme was someone pointing to the audience while say '' come on bro , das cyber bullying''. although it might sound kinda plain but it send out the message of acknowledgement and action, which are the very important. many people dont think that cyber bullying is often performed but its quiet the opposite. every day people are being effected by it and no one even realises, thats why acknowledgement is so crucial. lastly, taking action, if you do acknowledge someone is a victim to it, do something. you dont even know how good of a deed it is.

  5. My meme was a character from the lion king meditating and the text said ''when you send a inappropriate picture and they screenshot'' because meditating reduces stress and most people would be stressed out and angry if someone took a screen shot of the picture if they sent a inappropriate picture. This meme is effective because it shows that you should never send anything inappropriate because you never know what could happen after u send it.

  6. my meme was the american pride eagle and spam. He says be a good digital citizen, stop spamming me. Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or illegal services. Spam costs the sender very little to send -- most of the costs are paid for by the recipient or the carriers rather than by the sender. One particularly nasty form of email spam is sending spam to mailing lists. stop spam today

    1. This is a very powerful comment and shows how your meme is relative to what goes on in society nowadays regarding spam messages.

  7. My meme was on cyberbullying. Every year there is many cases of suicide or fights that are caused because of cyberbullying. I think the reason why some people cyberbully is because you cant see them and they're hidden behind a screen so you cant do anything about it. Most people that cyberbully would never say what they said to the persons face.

  8. I chose the specific image because the two characters look scared and when you do send inappropriate images you should be a bit scared and the expression is shown very well in the image. The text I used in the meme which said “ you see that? That’s what happens when you send an inappropriate photo” which is related to the expression in the image. My meme is effective because people these days do this and if it can be reduced that would be good.

  9. I picked a lot of pictures, cuz they had the expression of when you see an inappropriate picture, and when you get bullied online.
When pepole bully people online, they usually dont feel good after they do it, esecially when they get caught. When you post something, anyone can see it, and a lot of people forget that. They dont realize it untill it goes viral or something.

  10. The meme that i created was a picture of a guy who's facial expression was shocked and the caption i wrote was,"When you send something inappropriate to someone and they post it." I chose this image because it perfectly captures pretty much what i want people to see and it goes well with my picture. My meme is effective because it shows people that anything you put out there wether it's in a private text or on their profile it's out their and anyone can see because any one can have a copy of that one picture.

  11. My meme is of Donald Trump pointing and saying one day my twitter wars will create real wars. Donald Trump is not a good digital citizen starting fights and insulting other celebrities is just the beginning of his battles. One day he'll do something to insult a important politician and 5 seconds later North America will be launched into war. My meme is effective becuase it shows that your actions will have a consequence especially if they are bad actions.

    1. They're both going to get North America in war really

  12. I chose a picture of a little boy with a skeptical facial expression. I found this photo was appropriate for what I wrote since it's so hard to believe that every single thing you do that involves digital citizenship is permanent and can never truly be deleted. I found the skeptical facial expression perfect since having a permanent digital footprint leaves you in disbelief. I think my meme is effective since it helps people understand how serious your digital footprint is.

  13. The reason why I chose those pictures is because I thought I could create a funny and creative meme that would easily get the point throug. Each meme is is supposed to warn people on what would happen if they post inappropriate post on the internet and what would happen if you do. I think each meme is effective because it gets the message straight to the viewer but with some comedic effect because i think some one will remember a message if it is presented to you as a form of joke and not if it is scared into you.

  14. my meme is a picture off morpheus from the matrix saying " what if I told you, you can stop being a bad digital citizen". I think this message is a very important one because people sometimes say one thing on a social media site and then they just never stop doing it but maybe if someone told them to stop they might, I also did another one of ned stark but it has nothing to do with this.

  15. My meme is a cat that is surprised, and it says "so you're telling me that this post is on the internet forever!?" The message that i'm trying to pass through with this meme is that even though you think that you deleted a picture or message it's always gonna be on the internet. You might think that no one saw it but probably more people then you thought saw this message or picture that you didn't want anyone to see. Once you press delete it's probably always gonna be there even though you think it's deleted forever.

  16. My meme is a way of showing you that whatever you post will be there forever and even if you delete it it will still be there. A picture or video can spread across the internet very fast and everywhere. it is a way to raise awarness of not posting anything with too much information or an inappropriate picture or video

  17. My meme is a picture of Obama pointing his finger angrily saying stop ruining video games. I chose this meme because it's really annoying when you are playing a video game trying to relax from a day at school and you get online and some hacker has deleted all of your stuff or uses wall hacks in a game and it really just puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the day when stuff like that happens.

  18. My meme was the ski instructor from south park saying " If you're not a good digital citizen you're gonna have a bad time." I think this spreads a good word to people to make them think of all the bad things that can happen to them if they're not a good digital citizen. People will make fun of you and not talk to you because you posted that one inappropriate picture.

  19. my meme is the person half naked saying they can never take that picture back i find its telling people that what ever they post no matter how hard you try it will never get off the internet either some one did a screenshot or its saved online for ever. this is not a good digital citizen. if that was you they would make fun of you and they will allways be on your tail. a good digital citisen will think is this something that i would sahow my parents or write to them thank you

  20. I chose this meme about posting inappropriate pictures online. people think that when they delete a picture or a video online that its automatically deleted from the internet, but the truth is that its going to be there forever. next time, before posting something, think twice because it can really affect you in the future.

  21. The meme that I created was a picture of a woman crying saying "when you realize that your inappropriate picture is permanently online. " I choose that picture, because the woman is crying, she is regretting for posting that picture. And the reaction fits perfectly the situation.I think before posting a picture, you need to look if it is offensive or inappropriate.

  22. I chose the picture of a skeptical baby boy because I like the face that the baby was making and I think it works well with my message. The text I chose for my meme is “Are you telling me that you thought nobody’s going to see that picture” I chose this because people don’t think things through before they post something or when they are sending nudes.

  23. Sorry got home late, the reason i used the fry is because well.. Its a classic futurama one and people make memes about similar situations with that picture of fry. He's just there looking very curious.

  24. My meme was a picture of Willy Wonka that is looking at the camera with a very sarcastic look. My meme says: "So you like to cyberbully? Tell me what you accomplish by doing so." You can match the look on his face with the tone of voice you would use to read the meme. Cyberbullying does not accomplish anything, hence the sarcasm. It also creates negative consequences to the person that is being cyberbullied.

  25. My meme was a surprised cat saying "why did you post that now everyone can see it." I think this is a good meme because what a lot of people don't realize is that when they post something bad that not only their friends can see it but everyone can. And if its an inappropriate picture a lot of people can be offended by it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My meme was saying you thought you could post that kind of photo, without everyone seeing it". I chose to write that because in order to be a good digital citizen you shouldn't post inappropriate photos. They should also know that posting any photo online anyone can see it, so they should be careful. The photo I used was a sponge bob image, I used it because I found it very funny.

  27. The meme I picked was the one with the four kids dancing and looking happy. In my writing I said "when you get rid of hackers".i said this because hackers are a huge problem in the vertuwal world. They cause so much trouble and are always doing bad things.honestly I think there should be good hackers that fight against bad hackers.Hacking is cool but it's not that cool to a point where you could get arrested.
