Why does that topic interest you?
How is it seen in the novel The Chrysalids and in our society today?

For the PSA I will be covering Bullying. This topic interest me the most because I think bullying is one of the most common problem in society and has to stop. Just joking , I choose it because it's easy. In the novel Sophie is pretty much harassed and bullied for having an extra toe and In our society you can see some people who are special with disabilities are made fun of.

DeleteThe subject that my partner and I have chosen to cover is discrimination. This topic interests me because everyones been through it or at least most people i know. discrimination is something that's been happening since the beginning of time and still goes on today. In the book we are currently reading discrimination is covered throughout the whole story. They discriminate people who are different. As in look different. People who aren't considered "normal" who have different features of their bodies are discriminated. In the society that we live in today discrimination still plays a big part most of which is racism. People are discriminated for the colour for their skin and for their culture. It's honestly unfortunate that people are treated differently for the little difference we all have between us. But that's life.

Kidnaping is a big problem in our world. people get kidnapped all the time, but some people get run away with someone but that someone gets blamed for kidnaping, this is also a big problem , people blame other people for doing something bad just because their different. and kidnaping also has to stop because innocent people die or get severely hurt every day because of this.

ReplyDeleteThe topic that my partner and I decided to cover is discrimination. Discrimination happens all throughout the book. People discriminate because they're different from others. I find that discrimination is a big problem in this world and in the book because people judge you because they're different or because they don't look the same way as you do. I think that discrimination shouldn't be a problem because you have to know that no one can look the same way as you. You have to accept everyone in their own special way.
I think discrimination is a good topic to cover.
DeleteMy subject is bullying and we chose to do it on that because it is a very easy subject to do and we'be already found a couple of ideas. One of the ideas that we found is that Joseph is sorta bullying all the people who have disabilities by ruinning their life and sending them to the Fringes. He is so absesst with that idea that he literally is literally yelling at his and he is blaming him for everything.

DeleteMy partners and I have chose bullying. I chose this subject with the group because it is a huge problem that happens everywhere in society and even know. It is a huge problem and usually when people joke it actually becomes serious and "stuff actually go down" like fights. This is clearly shown in the novel everywhere but one example is when the tattle tail was gonna tell on Sophie and making it such a big deal. If i had a kid that had a little thing extra I wouldn't care because it wouldn't and shouldn't be a big deal.

ReplyDeleteThe Topics that my partners and I have chosen to write about for our PCA is Xenophobia. Since it affects so many people all over the world this topic interests me. It isn't fair that just because you look different or have a different culture than others, people affected by xenophobia consider you as an outcast and automatically have a fear of you. This is seen many times in the novel The Chrysalids since if you have one unique trait people fear you and send you away.

ReplyDeleteThe topic that Sam Reilly and I are doing our P.S.A about is stranger danger and racism. These topics interest me because I've seen so many P.S.As about them and I'd like to see how we can put our twist on those subjects and P.S.As. Racism and stranger danger can be found in the chrysalids when they stereotype ever mutant as if it were the devil and stranger danger is found when they tell the little children to stay away from the mutants or they will kidnap you.

It also interests us because it relates to the book we are reading “The Chrysalids”. It is seen in the novel because if you aren’t “normal” then people are scared of you just like in today’s society most muslim people are accused of being terrorists because of ISIS.

ReplyDeleteThe topic me and Julian will be covering will be over physical disabilitys. Why? because me and him can fit a whole lot of memes into it... It's not that we're making fun of anybody. We just wanted some sick memage. And the way its seen in the chrysalids is that if you lack a certain body part your deemed unholy and a blasphemy.
In my group we are doing our PSA on suicide. We chose suicide because sometimes people think that if things are really bad that they need to end their life because they think that their is no other way to feel better like in the Chrysalids when Aunt Harriet kills herself because she didn't want to lose her child again.
ReplyDeletecharles, tiago and i are doing our psa on bullying. we saw a significant amount of bullying in the book. for example, the fact they if you look a little different you are banished or killed. in the case of the chrysalids, they are killing of a large population known to them as blasphemy. the lesser version to describe what they are doing is bullying, but the real word genocide

ReplyDeleteThe topic I chose was discrimination, it interested me because there is so much discrimination in the world and it's horrible. It's seen in the Chrysalids throughout the entire book, they discriminate all of the "mutants" because they aren't considered perfect by societies standards.
