Over the weekend, my family and I went up north (Ste. Agathe).
We went sledding, did some walking and watched some old DVD videos on an old TV.
We also played some board games (scrabble and monopoly).
It was a bit annoying since we had no internet or Wi-Fi for the entire weekend.
Would you be able to keep yourself busy for an entire weekend with no internet or Wi-Fi?
What would you do?
How dependent are you on being connected?
Explain.
I would definitely not be able to live without WiFi because maybe I can live without it for maybe a couple of hours but then I will just die. For example I never look forward to going to my grandparents house because she has absolutely no WiFi and she doesn't have any good TV channels. If I don't have WiFi for a while I don't act like my usual self for example I would probably start freaking out or like saying random stuff to keep myself busy.
ReplyDeleteThat is rip life with electronics
Deletethat sucks that theirs no internet at your grandparents house
DeleteI would. Not to long ago during the summer I went with a friend and his brother to his shallet. We din't have any wi-fi but we always had something to do. We played board games there and my favorite thing fishing. Every day we spent are time fishing in the lake we were next to and cathing fish was fun. I also went frog catching and it was a challenge because they were always were hopping. Even though I did not have wi-fi I did not miss it. I caught quite a few fish and frogs so I was having fun. We were there only for the weekend so it was mostly being at the lake.
ReplyDeleteya I wish that I can go fishing while i'm at my grandparents house
DeleteI cant I need WIFI
Deletei love fishing orf can i come
DeleteYes I would be able to survive for an entire weekend, since I do that every year but for two weeks instead of a weekend. What I usually do is go on the beach, since we camp at one very year, but besides going to the beach I go paint balling play board games and make puzzles. I also do a lot of cool stuff with my brother like play cards, wrestle and other cool stuff. And when I am most desperate on these vacations I play on my phone, but games that do not use internet or wifi
ReplyDeleteYea, like you said, you could just play computer games or in your case phone games that do not require wifi.

ReplyDeleteMeh I would. Admittedly it could be really boring but I'm sure i can preoccupy myself. Read a book... Study... You know the usual, I've had to deal with like a month of no internet. I'm sure I could still last another 2 days. Besides like you said, I could just be social and play board games its not that hard. Like, I'm very dependent on the internet, I use it for most of my entertainment etc. buuut ill live.
ReplyDeletei would definitely be able to keep myself busy if i wouldn't have any internet. i would spend time with my family and friends. enjoy the moments and socialize with them. to actually connect with them and get closer to them. know whats happening in their lives. because were so connected to the internet and our electronic devices we forget to spend time with our family and friends. were not aware of the world or whats happening around us.
ReplyDeleteyea the world isn't as social anymore
DeleteYou're so right! I agree
DeleteI think I would be able to keep myself busy depending on who i'm with. For instance if I was with my parents I would be bored beyond my mind. But if I was with some friends I would be able to stay busy so easily because most of the time when I hang out with my friends we all stay off of our phones and we just have fun and as a group and do a bunch of stupid and silly things so I think depending on the people I'd be able to stay busy.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree, if you are occupied it is not bad to have no internet or wifi
DeleteI think I would be able to go without internet or wifi for more then a weekend because I live really close to my friends and family and if I ever want to do something with them I can just go to there houses and from then we can go many places. For example for the last two weeks I had no phone and so I went to my friends house and had them over a lot I would rather have internet wifi and internet because it is 100 times easier to make plans but I do not find it is that bad for one weekend.IM not going to lie I am pretty dependent on being connected but I can go for one weekend without being connected, but I would much rather be connected
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you survived with no phone
DeleteWell this is someone who can spend up to A WHOLE MONTH WITHOUT ANY WIFI OR INTERNET. How? Easy, I would spend those days doing all sorts of fun activities like biking, swimming and tennis in the warm months or skiing if it was winter. Also, indoor entertainment? Easy as well, just play some fun board games, long ones too that are especially time consuming as well. Music? just turn on the radio. Also we would invite lots of people over and we would always make up random fun games to play outside or inside and it was always fun. So I can go long perioeds of time no internet.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you're kept busy. It's all good.
DeleteTo be honest it would be a struggle. Unless i was with Athena because with Athena we could talk for hours and hours non stop and we kind of just forget about social media. We would probably take the camera and go take some pictures outside. Meet some people talk and chat. Then we would do some stupid shit like climb a tree or throw stuff at strangers. In general when i'm with her we don't use our phone much. Although, if i wasn't with her i'd be crying and complaining and angry all at once.
ReplyDeleteYes I could survive without wifi. The longest I haven't had wifi was for about 3 days when I went up to my friends cottage. I'm sure that's nothing compared to the people that have gone a month, but that's pretty long for me. We would mostly just ride in his snowmobiles and since we were close to a mountain we decided to spend an entire day climbing to the top. When were inside we'd watch movies off a VCR and a big box TV or play card and board games.
ReplyDeleteI dont remember the last time I played a board game, but snowmobiles? Sick!
DeleteTo be honest I don't really use the internet often. I like to spend time with my family and friends. In life I think that being social and active is more important than having WiFi. My friends and family are really important to me because they are a huge part of my life.
ReplyDeleteAgree with the social and active part
DeleteI definitely think I can keep myself busy without Wi-Fi. I think I would be with my friends outside for most of the time. If I have to stay inside home I would spend time with my parents but I would still get really bored.
ReplyDeleteya thats true u could go with friends
Deleteme if i had no wifi it woudnt be a huge deal but it would still matter because i grather to have it but i could just go play football with my friend or just go places get wifi there if i need wifi that badly. i am not dependent at all on the wifi becaude i hardly play on the wifi unless its cs go.
ReplyDeleteI would be able to keep myself busy without internet cuz I have been living without internet for a long time at m house. I cant use my tablet anywhere except at school and at libraries. Usually, I keep myself busy by drawing, reading, or whatever else that I do, Im not gonna make a list. I dont really care that much if Im not connected. Its mostly when I have internet and its slow asf that I get annoyed. The main problem that I have about not being connected is when other people have data or whatever, and they're all texting, watching videos, or on social media, and Im just sitting there like wtf do I do?

Im not able to survive a day without wifi, let alone a weekend. Not knowing what's happening on social media stresses me out. I'm convinced I have separation anxiety from my phone. This summer I was forced to go camping for 2 nights and twice a day I would make my mom walk 1 km to get to a building with wifi to text my friends and check my snap chats. This weekend I broke my phone and my parents couldn't take me to get a new one the same day since my brother had soccer and I cried and cried even though they were getting me the new iPhone tomorrow and they even upgraded my phone. To conclude my life basically revolves around my phone I'm a slave to it.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I have already gone a week without wifi, T.V and land line phones and it wasn’t that bad since my grandparents came up to visit. We had no wifi and no T.V. I would be able to live a week without wifi because I’ll just read and if I get bored of reading I’ll go play with my dog or just annoy my older sister. If the whole family got bored we’d just go see a movie. I wouldn’t say that I’m dependent on being connected but it’s not something that I would like happening to me “again” because there is not a lot to do during the summer or ever because I won’t be able to call my friends without using data.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree playing with pets or annoying sisters is a great resolution to boredom even I do get punched.
DeleteIf I had no internet for a whole weekend I would read and spend more time with my friend and family. It would be a little bit boarding without WIFI but I would still manage to have fun. I am a little bit dependent on staying connecting because it is fun to see what is going on in the world.
ReplyDeleteI would not be able to live without Wifi. I'm obsessed with my phone and Ipad I always need to be on them so I personally would not be able to live without them. I could go without them but if I see it I have to go on it and check my stuff. The only way I can concentrate is if my parents remove it so to be honest I would not be able to survive without my phone.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't go a weekend without wifi, I love it so much. To be honest I would be very bored and not know what to do all weekend. If I had no choice I would probably do sports outside play board games or spend time with my friends. I'd say I'm very dependant on wifi to stay connected and up to date with everything that goes on. I also love listening to music so it would be difficult to manage a whole weekend without it.
ReplyDeleteI did a week and half without wifi this summer, and what i did was i did physical activities to keep my mind off my phone and plus it was much funner than just playing stuff on your phone. plus at night me and played all night card games. I'm not dependent to my phone and i hope people shouldn't be either.
ReplyDelete*me and the family played
DeletePeople shouldn't be dependent to much on their phones your absolutely right.
Deleteto be honest I wouldn't be able to go a week without wifi. A couple of months ago I went to margos cottage for the day and there's no wifi there at all and barely even any board games and even though it was only for a day I needed my wifi back ASAP because I always feel like I miss out on something and if my friends need to reach me I need my wifi and I'm not a big fan of most board games and it was fall so it was to cold to go swimming and to warm for snow so I was bored out of my mind
ReplyDeletePersonally I know I would be able to go without wifi for even more then just a weekend. I've done it before with my friend Emilie, her and I have been camping and up north serveral times. I find it easy not to go on my phone when I'm with others. I'm a very sociable person and I'm not very shy. I like board games and talking with people, you'd be surprised how fast time flies by when your just talking to someone. I mean that is... if there not completely boring. I don't think I'm super addicted to my phone although sometimes I am on it more then I should be.
ReplyDeleteI would be able to survive the whole weekend without wifi since I have done it before. My cottage has not wifi so whenever I go I hangout with my friends that live up north and we just entertain each other we don't need our phones for that. It is better with wifi but if I have to do it I have no problem.
ReplyDeleteIn my House WiFi is already pretty hard to come by, whenever I get in trouble my dad usually turns off the WiFi as punishment for what ever crime I have committed. When the WiFi is taken away my ADHD usually kicks it to deal with the boredom. The first thing I usually do when the WiFi is taken away is let my chinchilla Mrs Puff out of her cage. She takes a lot of work to catch and it is actually a pretty fun game. She pretty fast and has no problem sliding on walls and jumping up to 5 times her height like superman. After a while puff usually tires out and falls asleep on me from exhaustion. At this point I move to my next method of entertainment my friends. I usually phone my buddy Ethan and Massimo up as they live really close and usually go along with my crazy plans whether its climbing someones roof or calling some more people up and have a giant Nerf gun fight. After a while usually Ethan gets tired and me and Massimo have to find something to entertain us like taking an office chair someone threw out and turning it into a skate board or making a campfire in my back yard and setting off fire crackers. If my friends aren't available I usually go to the yacht club and grab our little laser which is basically a dingy with a sail on it and go for a sail or I get my mom and she gets our CnC 27 which is a big boat and sail out to the sand bar to go for a swim and hope fully this summer since I will be doing scuba diving lessons I can do some scuba diving but I need a partner to dive with so I have to drag someone into the courses with me. If its the winter I usually do a lot of skiing and if there is no mountain I usually attempt to build an Igloo which always fails or I make a snow fort or something. MR Katz if you have read this far bravo or anybody for that matter if you have read this far bravo.
ReplyDeletewow impressive. seems like you do a lot of stuff when u don't have wifi
Delete
ReplyDeleteI would be able to keep myself busy for an entire weekend with no internet or WI-FI, all depending on who I’m with and where I am. I’d be able to keep myself busy if I was with family and friends on a beach. If I was with people I don’t like, in a forest I wouldn’t be able to keep myself busy for an entire weekend I would do a bunch of stuff, especially things that I have interest in. I am pretty dependent of being connected with the wifi sometimes.
Seems to me like you know how to occupy yourself
DeleteI would be able to survive a weekend without wifi. The longest i've gone without wifi was probably a week or something. I can easily entertain myself by playing board games and hanging out with friends. Sometimes it can be boring without wifi but i can always find something to do.
ReplyDeleteNot having wifi is something I'm familiar with because I'm the area that I lived in before i moved here, did not have wifi. In order for us to use wireless internet, we would have to get a router that runs off of a data phone plan, and it was very expensive. Living where I was had it's ups too, because we had a lot of land so I would occupy myself by doing things outside with friends, like archery, swimming, badminton, basketball, catching frogs, etc.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't really care that much to be honest, I mean having wifi is something I would prefer, but I definitely don't need it. There's so much more to life than what's on a screen. Like instead of texting your friends, you can actually talk to them face to face. I used to be addicted to social media and texting and stuff like that before, but not anymore.
ReplyDeleteI agree wifi is something I enjoy having but if I think about it I don't "need" wifi
DeleteYes, I would be able to survive for a weekend without wifi. I like to spend time with my family and friends telling stories and playing games. When I don't have wifi, I read, I have interesting topical conversations and I clean. Although Netflix and Instagram and Snapchat etc, is great I know that when I do finally get wifi it will all still be there so I'm not too worried about not being connected for a couple of days.

ReplyDeleteIf I had no wifi and my phone, I want to say that I will go outside and play more sports. But in reality, I am addicted to my phone. I can live without my phone for two weeks, but I will have nothing to do in my free time. Also I don't want to miss out a new meme that comes out. I think that I will study more if I didn't have wifi or my phone. And I can exercise more because my arm are like noodles.
